ST BEDE’S COLLEGE HEALTH & FITNESS CENTRE
The St Bede’s Gymnasium facility focuses on all aspects of health and fitness within an educational environment. Given that the school is a large all boys campus, (1000+ students and the wider school community), it is not surprising that the new gymnasium facility has become a hive of activity before, during and after school hours.

A variety of functions
A typical school day may well involve a student arriving early, completing a work-out in the exercise room, followed by a healthy breakfast in the dining room, all before formal classes begin. At recess and lunch break, the canteen within the facility provides a healthy menu which can be eaten inside the dining-room or outside beneath new shade structures.
Whole school assemblies are held regularly in the enlarged and renovated sports hall, now fully equipped with video, p.a. systems, and acoustic treatments allowing the space to be used for speeches and holy communion.
Dedicated spaces for sport & health
Whilst general classrooms are dispersed throughout the school, all P.E., Health and Well-being classes are now held in the three learning spaces provided within the gymnasium facility. These classrooms easily convert to larger or smaller spaces as required. Break-out study spaces on the mezzanine level allow for informal learning to take place, overlooking the double sports courts below.
