KEYSBOROUGH PLAYING FIELDS MASTERPLAN
The Keysborough Playing Fields currently provide a multipurpose sporting environment with three precincts; tennis, football/ cricket and hockey/soccer/ softball. The Mentone Grammar years 7- 12 interschool competition takes place here on Saturday mornings. It is desirable that the complex can fulfil these functions for the requirements of the school, as well as investigating the viability of hiring facilities out to the wider community.

Providing state of the art facilities
There are several key objectives that have been addressed in the preparation of the Masterplan for Mentone Grammar’s Keysborough Playing Fields:
- To investigate the requirements of upgrading the existing playing fields and provision of additional sporting facilities to provide Mentone Grammar with a state of the art playing field facility.
- To investigate the requirements of upgrading, renovating and extending the associated facilities and amenities to the playing fields (including change rooms, social spaces, catering and storage facilities).
- Exploration of integrating a modular building type with the existing building stock. Assess the cost and time efficiencies of utilising modular buildings versus conventional building when dealing with existing building fabric.
Traffic, services, signage
In addition to sporting fields and built form, the Masterplan sought to address:
-Improving traffic management within the site, and entering and exiting the site, including emergency services access.
-Improving car and bus parking facilities along with dedicated drop off points.
-Upgrading of services to the site (including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and fire services).
- To investigate the requirements of a new entry that better signposts the facility as well as enhancing the visual identity to emphasize the school’s place within the broader community.
