Gilson College Taylors Hill Children’s Centre

Gilson College is a non-government Christian co-educational college established by the Seventh Day Adventist Church in 1988. It is situated in the outer western suburbs of Melbourne and provides both primary and secondary level education. This project aims to extend the learning opportunities further by providing an on-site Early Learning Centre catering to 3- and 4-year-old children.

The new building comprises two Children’s Rooms, each with a capacity of 33 children. The rooms are supported by kitchen, laundry and reception/ office facilities. The works completed represent Stage 1 of the Children’s Centre, with the design allowing for capacity to be doubled by constructing a mirror image of Stage 1 in the future. The indoor learning environment is complemented by a large outdoor area, developed for ‘Bush Kinder play’.
