The Vermont Secondary College Senior Maths and Science Centre is the culmination of five years of lobbying, planning and design. The senior school at Vermont SC has a reputation for years of excellence in Maths and Science, so the new centre builds on that by providing students with a state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility. The centre consists of a large preparation area, staffroom, Biology, Chemistry and Physics laboratories, two general purpose classrooms with an operable dividing wall and a large flexible learning space where a distinctive, acoustically-lined geometric canopy unfurls across the ceiling. The built outcome fulfills the school’s desire for a centre that has a university feel, with the flexibility to allow for different approaches to teaching and learning.
